Your seal. A stone of memory carved through time.

In antiquity, an engraved gem was never merely an ornament. It was a personal mark, an emblem of identity, a talisman to be kept close to the body.

Often no larger than a fingertip, cameos and intaglios contained an entire universe: deities, sacred animals, myths, initials, crests, and symbols capable of speaking to the world without the need for words.

Sigillum Stones revives the ancient art of glyptics, transforming hardstones, mother of pearl, and precious metals into contemporary jewels to be worn, treasured, and passed down.

Create your contemporary legacy

Signet rings, cameos, and intaglios handcrafted in Italy

Every Sigillum Stones jewel is born from the encounter between a stone and an image: a myth, a Latin motto, a crest, an initial, a symbolic animal, or a personal sign.

Inspired by the tradition of ancient glyptics, we create handcrafted signet rings, relief-carved cameos, hardstone intaglios, and personalized jewels conceived as small contemporary talismans.

Intimate and powerful objects, created to tell who you are — and what you choose to carry with you.

HADES SIGNET RING

More than a jewel: a sign to be worn

Since antiquity, engraved stones have accompanied human history as seals, amulets, ornaments, and objects of memory.

A Roman emperor could use an engraved gem to authenticate a document. A warrior could carry a protective image into battle. A Grand Tour traveler could collect cameos as ideal fragments of the classical world.

Their value did not lie only in the material, but in the carved image: a god, an animal, a face, a motto, a sign capable of preserving identity, protection, and belonging.

Sigillum Stones is born from this same idea: transforming a symbol into an everyday presence.

Two ancient techniques. Two ways of carving a symbol.

In the language of glyptics, engraved stones are divided into two great families: cameos and intaglios.

A cameo is carved in relief: the figure emerges from the surface of the stone like a small sculpture.

An intaglio, on the other hand, is engraved in recess: the image is carved into the stone and, historically, could be used as a seal to leave an impression in wax or clay.

One brings the image outward.

The other preserves it within the depth of the material.

In both cases, the stone becomes a story: a sign to see, touch, and carry with you.

Every stone has a voice

In glyptics, the stone is never merely a support. Each material possesses its own personality, light, color, and memory.

Red carnelian evokes energy, vitality, and protection.
Black onyx suggests strength, rigor, and depth.
Bloodstone recalls courage and endurance.
Agate preserves harmony, stratification, and balance.
Mother of pearl transforms the surface into a shifting play of reflections and iridescence.

Engraving gives shape to the symbol.
The stone gives it a soul

Our Artisan Workshop

In the heart of the Valenza goldsmithing district, Sigillum Stones preserves and reinterprets the ancient art of glyptics.

Our jewels are born from slow and precise work: the choice of the stone, the study of the image, the engraving of the subject, the construction of the setting, and the finishing of the metal.

It is an art of detail and patience: enclosing a universe of meaning within just a few millimeters of stone.

As in ancient engraved gems, every Sigillum Stones ring unites technique, image, and material.

The result is a small sculpture to be worn: personal, symbolic, and made to last.

Engraved Carnelian Signet Ring

The signet ring: from instrument of identity to personal jewel

The signet ring was born as a functional object: it was used to leave an impression, authenticate a document, and declare belonging.

Today, it preserves that same symbolic strength, while becoming a more intimate and personal jewel. The shape, the metal, the stone, and above all the engraved image transform the seal into an individual story.

Choosing a handcrafted signet ring means creating a unique object, capable of speaking of your history, your values, or your imagination.

The New Elegance is Timeless

In an age of rapid consumption, an engraved seal is an act of slowness.

It is the rediscovery of the value of time, of the hand, of natural matter, and of the personal symbol.

Choosing Sigillum Stones means wearing a jewel that does not belong to a season, but to a longer line: that of memory, beauty, and inheritance.

Because true elegance has no expiration date.
