The better we understand the meaning behind the image, the more faithfully we can translate it into stone.
2. Research
Before we draw, we study.
We examine the subject, its history, its iconography, and the way it can best be rendered in stone.
We carefully consider the engraving technique, proportions, choice of material, and every detail needed to preserve the image's clarity, balance, and expressive strength.
Whenever appropriate, we also consult historical, iconographic, and heraldic sources to ensure the design remains faithful to its tradition.
3. The Design
We prepare a bespoke design proposal.
Every element is discussed and refined together before the engraving begins, ensuring that every detail reflects the shared vision of the project.
4. The Engraving
Only then does the stone pass into the engraver's hands.
Every line is carved with the same care that has defined the art of glyptic engraving for centuries.
