Guardians of a Four-Thousand-Year Tradition
Sigillum Stones is an Italian workshop devoted to the art of glyptics—the ancient craft of engraving hardstones that has accompanied human civilization for more than four thousand years.
Long before it became a piece of jewelry, an engraved gem was a seal. It authenticated documents, identified its owner, protected messages, and represented entire families through coats of arms, symbols, or deities. Within its small dimensions, it preserved a remarkable legacy of images, meanings, and memories passed down from one generation to the next.
Today, we continue this tradition by creating signet rings, cameos, and engraved gemstones that unite the visual language of antiquity with contemporary craftsmanship.
Where Research Meets Craftsmanship
We work in the renowned jewelry district of Valenza, where the tradition of Italian goldsmithing meets one of the oldest arts of stone engraving.
Every project begins with a conversation and develops through careful study of the image to be engraved. Before choosing the metal or the setting, we examine the subject itself—its history, the most suitable gemstone, its proportions, and the engraving technique best suited to express it.
Every detail is designed so that the image retains the same expressive power that engraved gems have carried for thousands of years.
Every Stone Tells a Different Story
We create bespoke signet rings engraved with family coats of arms, monograms, initials, mottos, personal symbols, mythological subjects, and historical figures.
Every gemstone possesses its own character, and every image requires its own approach. Carnelian, onyx, agate, sardonyx, lapis lazuli, bloodstone, and mother of pearl are not simply different materials—they each interact with light, relief, and the engraver's hand in their own unique way.
For this reason, every jewel is individually designed, never produced from standardized models.
