Every Bespoke ring by Sigillum Stones begins with an image destined to become personal: a family crest, a monogram, a portrait, a symbol, or a subject drawn from history and ancient iconography.

Through the tradition of glyptic art, that image is entrusted to stone and transformed into a hand-engraved intaglio or cameo.

Carnelian, onyx, agate, lapis lazuli, bloodstone, sardonyx and other stones are chosen not only for their colour, but for the way the material and the engraving can interact with one another.

Each ring is individually crafted in Italy and created to belong to one person alone.

Not simply a bespoke jewel, but an image to carry with you.

From the Idea to the Stone

A creation may begin with something that already belongs to your story — a family crest, initials, a portrait or a personal symbol — or with an image you would like to reinterpret through the language of the engraved gem.

You can send us photographs, drawings, heraldic documents, iconographic references, or simply tell us about the idea you would like to develop.

Together, we will consider the subject, proportions, stone and setting best suited to the piece.

How a Bespoke Ring Is Created

Every commission is developed individually.

The process includes:

• Study of the subject – we analyse the image, crest or symbol and consider how best to translate it into the limited space of the stone.
• Design and preview – we develop the design and share a visual representation of the engraving with you before proceeding.
• Stone engraving – the subject is engraved by hand according to the tradition of glyptic art.
• Creation of the ring – the engraved stone is then set into a ring made in your chosen size and metal.

Before shipping, we can share photographs and videos of the finished piece with you.

Ring Shape

You can choose from the shapes available in our collection, or we can develop a custom shape together.

The setting is made specifically to accommodate the stone and respect the proportions of the engraved subject.

Stone Size

The size of the stone is chosen according to the subject, the level of detail involved and the proportions you would like for the finished ring.

You may choose from our standard sizes or request different dimensions.

For particularly complex engravings — such as complete coats of arms, crowns, mottos or subjects containing numerous details — we may recommend a larger stone in order to preserve the clarity and quality of the engraving.

Ring Size

Every Bespoke ring is made in the ring size chosen by the client.

Our ring settings can be made in:

Bronze with 24k gold plating
Sterling silver 925
9k, 14k or 18k yellow gold
9k, 14k or 18k rose gold

The choice of metal can also be considered in relation to the colour of the stone and the overall character you would like the ring to have.

Every natural stone presents its own variations in colour, transparency and pattern. For this reason, each engraving has individual characteristics and no two pieces will ever be perfectly identical.

Creation Time

A Bespoke ring generally requires approximately 4–6 weeks, depending on the complexity of the engraving, the stone and the setting selected.

As each piece is developed and crafted individually, we will confirm the expected timeframe before beginning the project.
